Fire crews called to emergency at Kilroot Power Station

Five fire crews attended an emergency at Kilroot Power Station in Carrickfergus on Monday evening.
The alarm was raised at 8.34 pm.
A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters dealt with a fire involving a mechanism in a fan – accidental ignition.”
Two appliances from Carrick, one from Whitehead, one from Larne and one from Glengormley were called to the power station.
The alert ended at 9.10 pm.
