12 at the Riverside

THE Riverside Theatre in Coleraine is very much looking forward to the first of the autumn season’s big-cast dance productions, which is entitled 12.

12 is presented by the Dominic Graham School of Irish Dance and so titled as it will be founder Dominic’s twelfth successive show in the North West’s favourite regional venue.

The last twelve months have seen The Dominic Graham School (DGS) become one of Europe’s top Irish Dance acts, with headline appearances at The International Festival of Wales and Celtica in Italy this year.

And in those twelve years DGS has developed its own distinctive style and has nurtured its talent so that some of the youngest cast members in its first show in 1999 are now the choreographers and senior performers in this year’s show. 12 is the school’s twelfth show at the Riverside with twelve brand new pieces, making up a show that is not to be missed!

From the Riverside’s own perspective, Administrator Jeremy Lewis said that this event was particularly special.

“As we’ve known Dominic since he was just eleven years old, it’s tremendously satisfying to see quite how well his artistic career has progressed over the years: from dancer to choreographer, to Artistic Director and to highly-respected adjudicator – Dominic’s work is known throughout not just the length and breadth of Ireland but in both Europe and further afield”.
