An almighty Atlantic Session bound for the North Coast!

The Atlantic Sessions Music Festival’ is here again and takes place on the north coast from 12th to 15th of November.

Organised and funded by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, in conjunction with participating venues it will descend on bars, coffee shops and hotels in Portrush, Portstewart and Portballintrae.

Showcasing an eclectic mix of home grown music, unplugged acoustic sessions, full-on indie-folk, Americana, cool electro sounds and much more, the festival will include almost 50 FREE gigs with some very special ticketed performances to cater for everyone.

Top of the bill this year is up and coming act, ‘Wyvern Lingo’, who have just announced they will support global superstar ‘Hozier’ on his UK tour early next year. The group will perform at Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart on Friday 13th November.

There will also be ticketed performances by festival favorite, Paddy Casey at Flowerfield Arts Centre, Hannah McPhillimy, Owen Denvir and The Limavady Big Band at Portrush Town Hall; and Mandy Bingham, Amanda St John and Edelle McMahon with ‘A Celebration of Female Singer-Songwriters’ at Flowerfield Arts Centre.

The popular ‘Sunday Brunch Session’ returns with BBC Radio Ulster’s Ralph McLean to host an intimate in-the-round session with selected artists. New to the programme, presented by ‘Portrush Film Theatre’ at the ‘Playhouse Cinema’ Portrush, will be two movie showings. These are Amy (15)’, the controversial documentary about Amy Winehouse and the award winning film ‘Whiplash (15).

The FREE Music Trail will have some of the best and award winning musical talents including; 2015 London Galaxy Award winners, The Vals, multi award winner, Kaz Hawkins; PORTS; Jessica Doherty; Rosborough, Paddy Nash and the Happy Enchiladas, Old Hannah and Manouche, plus lots more performing free in various venues, details of which is available on the website www.atlanticsessions.com.
