“Jazz with a twist is a warm-hearted, inclusive evening which opens up the door to upcoming home-grown talent,” said Anne, who will also introduce Strabane man Ryan Quinn for the first time.

The young multi-talented pianist will feature throughout the evening. Other new faces appearing in the jazz festival for the first time include Joel Tracey on guitar and Jessica Doran, a blossoming jazz talent from Waterford.

Also fresh to this years ‘Jazz with a Twist’ line-up are Daniel Miller and Leanne McLaughlin (the Tau Tree Serpents) and Brendan Brady and Michaela Devine from the popular band, Custodian. Joining Michaela in the backing group will be Fiona Bradley, Linda Morgan and Charlotte Gillespie, who are all new to the jazz festival. Another jazz festival debutante will be poet, Maura Johnston, who will be reading a short selection from her recent new work.

“The talented jazz flautist Amanda Koser-Gillespie returns this year as does the Glaswegian jazz piper James Kenny supported by the dynamic drummer, Richard Campbell. The delightful cabaret duo Ursula McHugh and Deirdre Doherty are back.

“Eamonn Baker will be ‘talking in tune and much-loved singer-songwriter Roy Arbuckle will perform a number of songs and our stalwart backing band of Marty Brolly, Brendan Brady, Richard Campbell and Frank Cassidy will once again get those toes tappin’ and those hands clapping,” said Anne.

Anne’s brothers Brendan (who is travelling from Long Island), Michael and Jack Corey are back with a new repertoire of songs to engage
their audience.

Anne advises that the show starts at 8pm sharp as some of the artists are performing later at other jazz venues in the City. The audience are invited to bring their own drink/refreshment of choice.

Tickets are £10 and curtain up is 8pm Saturday. Telephone 02871 261941 to book tickets. A likited number may be available on the night at the door.
