Annual parade

THE Northern Ireland Submariners Association are holding their 4th annual parade and wreath laying ceremony in the village of Dervock.

The small yet diginified parade will take place on Saturday 6 March, commencing at 12.45pm, led by Articlave Flute Band.

Scott Brown commented: "On parade will be members from the Northern Ireland Submariners Association, Sea Cadets, the Royal British Legion, and the Ex-service men Associations.”

It recognises the contribution that all sections of our wider family gave towards resolution of conflicts; and the comaraderie that still exists today.

As one visiting veteran stated - "It was a privilege to visit you and to commemorate our comrades in Dervock.

"I am very proud to invite you all to my adopted home place in Dervock. Therefore, in concluding, can I invite the residents of Dervock to join with me in welcoming our guests, and everyone is invited to the North Irish Horse Inn for light refreshments afterwards - to splice the mainbrace.”
