Are you game for Airbourne?

BE prepared for some hard rockin' and hard drinkin' when Australian hellraisers Airbourne arrive in the Mandela Hall on Tuesday, April 13.

Brothers Joel and Ryan O'Keefe form the backbone of the Australian band.

The 'MAIL' caught up with drummer Ryan this week: "It's always very wild, always a great to see Belfast coming up on the tour.

"Expect high energy, a lot of gear being thrown around, a lot of sweat and beer and it's going to be very, very loud."

Ryan said the key to keeping fresh on tour was, "Everything in moderation including moderation itself".

He said the band take comparisons with AC/DC as a compliment given that they're "one of the best rock 'n' roll bands on earth".

In 2006, the band signed a five album record deal with Capitol and have since supported Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Status Quo, Judas Priest and The Rolling Stones, as well as playing in several summer music festivals.

Their 'No Guts No Glory' album was released in March.

Airbourne have gained a lot of exposure through video game soundtracks. They've featured on Guitar Hero, Rock Band, WWE Smackdown vs Raw and Need For Speed to name but a few.

Ryan, who has been heavily involved in music since he was 11, said: "We used to make up riffs to make the games on the Sega more exciting. I remember me and Joel coming up with this tune for Road Rash."

So even though you're not aware of it you may be a fan of the Australian rockers thanks to your X-Box or PS3.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are 17 from the usual outlets. This is a rescheduled concert and tickets for the original February date remain valid.
