Art prints works workshop at Braid

Mid Antrim Museum at The Braid is offering local people the opportunity to create their own unique art prints in a workshop with artist Maurice Orr.

The artist, who spent much of his life in Ballymena and now works from his studio in Ballymoney, developed his passion for printmaking while on a three-week residency to the north-west of Canada in 2013.

No drawing or painting skills are needed to take part! The residency was part-funded by the Cultural Olympiad following Maurice’s sensory painting exhibition, ‘The Screaming Silence of the Wind’, which the programme commissioned from him in 2012.

The workshop takes place at The Braid on Saturday June 20, from 11am - 4pm. Those taking part will be able to explore the technique of monoprinting using textural images of the natural landscape as an inspiration.

The cost is £7, including all materials. Advance booking is required as numbers are limited. Contact Noreen Mullan (Mid-Antrim Museum) on 028 2563 5925.
