Art Sale by McAfee Auctions 'more upbeat'

LAST weeks Art Sale by McAfee Auctions, was described as 'more upbeat' than their previous sale, with an oil by Charles McAuley titled 'Time of Day' realising £3,400. Another landscape by Charles McAuley realised £1,800.

Top price of the sale was for a Superb Watercolour by Edgar Bundy titled ‘The Last Flicker of an Expiring Cause’ which reached 4,100. A pair of oils by GW Gillespie realised 3,200.

Other prices achieved included a WJ Watson watercolour 900, Frank Egginton watercolour 500, Michael O’Neill oil 520, Gerry Glynn oils 750, 540, and 500. Richard Faulkner oil 330, Desmond Hickey oil 400, Ross Wilson oil 500, Donald McNaughton oils 400, 370 and 340, John Manson oil 300.

Liam Reilly oils 420, 340, and 330 J P Rooney oils 450 and 360, pair of J P Rooneys 520, Gavin Fitzsimmons 450, Fran Fit oil 400.

McAfee Auctions next sale which includes lots of Irish Art is an Antique and General Sale in Ballymoney Auction Room on Thursday and Friday 20th and 21st May commencing at 6.30pm each evening.
