Ballycastle Christmas Switch-On

The 2014 Ballycastle Christmas Lights Switch-On and Community Carol Service will be on Thursday 4th December at the Diamond Ballycastle.

The evening will open with a Community Carol Service in Trinity Church at 6.30pm followed by the Chairperson’s addresses and Switch-On in the Diamond. Santa will also be making an appearance and DJ Jake will entertain everyone till 9pm.

Everyone is welcome to come along and join in the interdenominational Carol Service which will be led by representatives from the main churches in the town. Seasonal Carols will be sung by the community choir with some solo performances. Following the Carol Service, Moyle District Council Chairperson, Cllr. Donal Cunningham will be joined on stage by Ballycastle Chamber of Commerce Chairperson, Paul Cochrane for the countdown and switch on of this year’s Christmas lights at 7.30pm.

Shortly after the lights come on Santa will be making an appearance on his sleigh with the help of the Community Rescue Service. Greenlight Gateway will be transforming the empty corner shop at the Diamond into a beautiful Christmas Grotto where children can go and visit Santa on the night. DJ Jake will be there to provide music and entertainment until 9pm. There will also be a guest appearance and song from the cast of Quadrangle Production’s much anticipated ‘Cinderella’ and a compilation of Christmas tunes from local young people as part of a joint choir from Ballycastle Youth Club and Greenlight Gateway.
