Ballymena rockers Sethway launch new EP

LOCAL rockers Sethway have released their debut EP, ‘Innocence Is Ignorance, packed full of harmonies, riffs and pulsating beats.

Originally formed in 2007, Sethway began as a four piece, they worked hard on their music and over the next year began to gig beyond their home town of Ballymena. After being well received around the Northern Ireland music scene, they won over fans from all over the country.

In early 2010, Sethway added a new member to their ranks and the current five piece line was complete.

The band seems to take inspiration from all music. In certain songs elements of Thin Lizzy shine through whilst in others, elements from more recent bands like YouMeAtSix and Elliot Minor seem to be in the forefront of their minds.

Bass player Michael Wilson said: “We are very excited about our new EP, Innocence Is Ignorance. We have put a lot of work and time into the EP and I am really excited to let our fans hear it. We had our official EP launch this week in Ballymena and the buzz around both online and in Ballymena is very positive.”

Lead singer Michael McCluskey and new addition Peter Gamble have combined on vocal harmonies and the addition of this 5th member seemed to the others and Sethway’s fan as the missing piece of the jigsaw. Sethway took huge strides in 2010 and the icing on the cake was an outdoor performance at Custom House Square in Belfast, where they played in front of 5000 music fans at “The Party In The Square”.

This performance, among many others, gained the band lots of new fans outside the local scene and garnered interest from many individuals within the music industry.
