This is a two day jewellery making course with Diane Lyness, a chance to make your own silver necklace, bracelet or earrings.

August 1 and 29: A Saturday Afternoon Warm Glass workshop at Gallery 1608, Bushmills – August 1 and 29 – Learn about the art of fused glass in a relaxed small group workshop. You will be free to create your own design and explore ideas with lots of personal attention www.gallery1608.co.uk

August 3: Weaving by the Sea – Basketry and Straw at the Magherabuoy House Hotel, Portrush Under the guidance of tutor Louise McLean of Atlantic Craft NI, participants will learn techniques to make artisan baskets www.nagherabuoyhousehotel.com

August 5: Louise will also be teaching Textile Basketry at the same location, aimed at making a more contemporary styled basket, using wide variety of textiles with willow.

Aug 4-7 and 11-14: Two four day pottery Masterclasses throwing porcelain with one of Northern Ireland’s leading ceramicists, Adam Frew at Flowerfield Arts Centre – make posts using porcelain clay on wheel under the guidance of the talented potter.

Aug 7 – Seaside Calligraphy at Portballintrae Village Hall – Local calligraphy artist Janet Millar will guide participants through process to produce modern, contemporary piece of artwork www.kisoarts.com

Aug 7-8 and 14-15: Two two day lampworking workshops – glass beadmaking for jewellery at Flowerfield Arts Centre with tutor, glass artist, Catherine Keenan.

Aug 21 and 29 Introduction to Japanese Shibori and Indigo with Catherine Quinn – Flowerfield Arts Centre – Participants given two Tenugi (Japanese hand towels) and shown two shibori techniques. Plastic Fantastic – Make Plastic Jewellery – design and make your own piece of modern, plastic jewellery.

Aug 22 and 29 Make Yourself at Home – Paperclay with Rachel Dickson – Participants will learn how to construct a house using porcelain paperclay.

Aug 4-31 Textile Art Exhibition – Port na Gree House, Ballycastle. Textile artist Eibhlin McCarry makes contemporary works in batik, hand embroidery, machine stitch, mixed media and felt, both landscape and abstract, including large works visitcausewaycoastandglens.com
