It tells the story of the highs and lows, the comradeship and the tensions, and the tears and laughter of life as a bandsman (or the long-suffering loved ones who exist in the wake of this activity). The outreach workshop consists of a scene or two, from ‘The Pride’ Production and a facilitated workshop/discussion afterwards on the issues surrounding bands culture.

The Pride production was originally staged in 2010 and offered, for the first time on stage, an accurate and sincere interpretation of the life of a Loyalist flute band.

On this occasion, the production is being used as a backdrop to facilitate a workshop where people and groups from within and without the band culture can explore the issues raised in an objective manner and in a neutral environment.

The event, which runs for around an hour – to one hour and 15 minutes, depending on the length of discussion - takes place on Thursday, June 27at 2pm. It is open to anyone and free to attend.
