Bazaar's Autumn/ Winter Fashion Show

LOCAL charity shop Can Can Bazaar is holding a Fashion Show on Thursday 23rd September at The British Legion in Ballymoney to preview their Autumn/ Winter fashion collection.

Can Can Bazaar’s fashion show is a seasonal event that aims to showcase the items that will be sold in their shop on Main Street, Ballymoney, and to promote the recycling of clothes and the benefits of ‘treasure hunting’ for bargains whilst reducing your carbon footprint.

Can Can Recycling, Bazaar’s sister project, collects previously loved clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories from their many clothing banks in the four local council areas (Ballymoney, Ballymena, Coleraine and Limavady). All clothes are then sorted by trainees at Can Can and all good quality items are sold in the Can Can Bazaar charity shop or on their online Ebay shop.

Clare Carson from Can Can Recycling said “Shopping for hidden treasures in charity shops is the perfect way to pick up a bargain. Often the clothes are in excellent condition and you can pick yourself up something from the high street you might have had your eye on last season.

With fashion trends continually revisiting previous time periods and with huge emphasis on the retro image, shopping for previously loved clothing is becoming ever more popular for staying in style whilst being easy on the purse.

During the evening there will be some designer and more expensive labels such as Ben Sherman, Levi’s, Miss Sixty, Diesel, Roxy and Sisley amongst others. In addition, we stock a range of ethically sourced jewellery and we will be previewing our new range on Thursday night. The members at Compass Advocacy Network will be modelling the clothing along with friends and supporters of Compass”

Can Can Bazaar is one of the social businesses run by Compass Advocacy Network, a service provider of activities and work opportunities for young people and adults with learning disabilities.
