BBC spends £400k on newspapers

THE BBC spends over £400k a year buying national newspapers alone, it has been revealed.

National newspaper deliveries to BBC buildings in London and Manchester are, for the most part, made via BBC managed service arrangements.

The total cost for all national newspapers delivered through the BBC’s managed service providers to the BBC in Manchester and London in 2010/11 was £406,063.

This excludes deliveries to local offices in Londonderry and Belfast and beyond. It also excludes deliveries of local newspapers.

Outside London and Manchester newspapers are delivered to BBC buildings by local newsagents.
