After some fabled arguments with computers, the latest turn in the story sees Olympic Lifts abandoning technology in favour of more a traditional approach.

Enlisting for the first time live drums and horns, their upcoming album sounds more like The Stooges crashing a 70s James Brown funk revue. And in a bold move they have decided to capture their fabled stage experience and release the album as a live recording.

It’s been said that “necessity is the mother of invention”, “time flies when you’re having fun” and that “great art can be more accident than design”. If these idioms are to believed then Olympic Lifts are the greatest rock’n’roll party of the 21st century.

Beginning life as a cut-and- paste hip-hop experiment, O.L. has developed through various forms, taking on board the entire history of rock from AC/DC to Gorillaz, and from Krautrock to Electro.
