There are few places in the world where such a large proportion of the population are so passionate about motorcycle racing as here in the Craigavon area. There are few more emotive personal and sporting stories than the record of the lives of the road-racing brothers from the Dunlop family and others. The radical contrast between racing triumphs and tragic losses often leads to heart-felt reflection.

In a special event next Tuesday, the documentary ‘Road’ will be shown in its full cinematic brilliance and the Rev Noel Agnew - well known among the motorcycle community - will give a keynote address. On display will be one of Joey Dunlop’s racing bikes and other motorcycling memorabilia, including a collection of photographs by creative photographer Paul McClean.

The event is free and comes in the run up to ‘The Big Festival for You’, which will be held in Magheralin and Dollingstown from 21st to 25th October, featuring a vibrant collection of activities.

Doors open for refreshments and to view the displays from 7pm, and the film will be shown from 7:45pm onwards. Those attending are welcome to travel by motorbike - the organisers are looking forward to welcoming a significant crowd! While the film is not aimed at very young children, this event is open to all.
