Brassnecks CD launch to be held in Flowerfield

The Brassnecks, (Barry Burgess, John Donnelly, Bernard Loughrey and Seamus Mc Clean) are a well established fixture on the Triangle entertainment scene. Having formed quite by accident in June 1989, and gone on stage after only ten minutes rehearsal, they felt that The Brassnecks was the only name they could go by.

After many years of prevarication, they have finally produced their sixth CD. The choice of songs included is reflective of their wide-ranging variety of musical tastes. From ballads to country to a cappella to instrumental - they are all catered for.

The title of the CD, “My Happiness”, came about quite easily after Bernard found a ten year old recording of John Corrigan, a fellow Brassnecks co-founder, playing ‘My Happiness’ on piano in his own inimitable style. John passed away this year, but it was possible to incorporate his playing onto the CD and this is a fitting tribute to him.

The boys will be launching their latest CD in The Flowerfield Arts Centre on Friday, November 22 at 8pm.

They will be joined on the night by Allistair Kinghan and Fintan Mc Grath.
