This outstanding trio features John McSherry (Uilleann Pipes), Dónal O’Connor (Fiddle) & Paul Meehan (Guitar). John and Donal are regarded as one of the finest Traditional Irish, Uilleann Pipe and Fiddle Duets of their generation.

Hailing from highly respected musical families, both have been touring internationally and recording since their early teens.

Their musical paths first crossed several years back on the Belfast traditional session scene and together they are the creative force behind the highly innovative traditional band At First Light which has toured the world extensively and produced some of the most influential albums in Irish music today including their latest release Idir.

They are joined by ace guitarist John Meehan whose driving rhythms and subtle textures bring another dimension to the fireworks and interplay between John and Dónal.

Together, this trio will take you on an emotive musical journey, from Ireland to the neighbouring Celtic regions and from the ancient music of the Gael to the modern face of traditional Irish music!

“Equal parts grace and danger” – The Irish Times

“There’s a great joy in their playing….and a certain roguish swagger that transmits their enthusiasm for the music directly to the listener with irresistible impact” – Herald Scotland

“Unlike the music of so many younger, greener players, the aim is not to show off by playing everything as fast as possible, but rather to wrench that elusive drop of soul from every single note. Reels, jigs, polkas and more exotic fare, like a Breton ridée and an Asturian piping tune, are delivered effortlessly” - Penguin Eggs review

The performance begins at 9pm and tickets £9, concessions £7 are available from Ballymoney Town Hall 028 2766 0230. More information on the group
