Cairns residents ‘float’ winning idea

Cairns Residents Group are delighted that their first ever float created for the Heart of the Glens Festival in Cushendall won joint first prize!

After several meetings where ideas ‘floated’ around, they decided to design it with their allotments in mind and used fruit and vegetables as the theme. Using a modest budget from the group coffers, the group then bought a few props and a sign and created their float which and went perfectly with the samba band who led the parade.

A spokesperson said: “We decided to give the Festival a go this year and as usual our residents delivered a great idea.” PICTURED LEFT.
