Calling all local snappers

BUDDING Londonderry photographers are being invited to enter an inaugural photography competition to mark World Mental Health Day, October 10, 2012.

The Health Improvement Department of the Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) is welcoming applications from local photographers across the Trust area to enter the competition centered on the theme “celebrating positive mental health.”

Debbie Hunter, Health Improvement Officer for the Western Trust said: “The theme is very much open to individual interpretation and style.

“Everyone is different; someone may prefer to take scenic photos of the countryside, whilst others may favour cityscapes or photos which capture characters or people.” There are four prizes, which include an under 18 section, consisting of Jessops vouchers, from £250 to £100. The winning photographs will also go on display at the University of Ulster Mental Health conference at Magee, on October 24/25, 2012 and will be reproduced in Western Trust publications. The closing date for entries is Wednesday, October 20, 2012.
