One Direction have announced two shows in the Odyssey next year, a move that could well prompt young fans to camp out in High Street ahead of the tickets going on sale this Saturday.

Owner of Skelton Travel Gerry Skelton said: “Last year they did three shows at Croke Park to a total of 240,000 people.

“There were queues for that and they seem to be as popular as ever.

“They’ve two shows in the Odyssey so that will cater for around 20,000. I expect there will be big demand.”

He continued: “Going on the enquiries we’ve had there’s a lot of interest. I’ve been told by some schoolgirls that called in that they’re going to camp out from Thursday.

“We’ve no way to regulate who camps out or tell people when they can started queuing, but it would probably be better if they came on Friday night.”

Last year Skelton Travel was the scene of a three-night camp out as Garth Brooks fans braved the elements for tickets for Croke Park concerts which in the end had to be cancelled.

Gerry continued: “We’re on the live system so we’ll be able to print out tickets as soon as they go on sale at 9am on Saturday. We’d be hoping to print around 350 for each show.”

Tickets go on sale on Saturday priced from £43.50 up to £70 for the shows on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 20 and 21.

Gerry said that other fast-selling shows at the minute are Disney On Ice, Foo Fighters at Slane and Take That.
