Ceili in Rasharkin

AGHADOWEY lady Assumpta Mhic Giolla, with the help of her friend Eibhlin McMullan are holding a Ceili in St Mary’s Club Rooms, Rasharkin on Friday, April 8 at 9.30pm.

This, with other events, will help raise much needed funds for Assumpta and her daughter Jenny’s ‘Kerry Challenge’ which is a 75k trek over three days in the beautiful Kerry Mountains on June 10 to 12.

It’s all in aid of Debra Ireland, a charity providing funds for the genetic condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa, which leaves the skin as fragile and delicate as a butterfly’s wings leading to the skin layers and internal body lining to blister and wound at even the slightest touch such as a hug.

Those living with the condition are highly susceptible to a very aggressive form of skin cancer from as early as their teenage years.
