Celebrating CS Lewis at churches project

The workshops, at Coleraine Methodist Church, have been led by well known local artist Ross Wilson.

Focusing on three portraits of C.S. Lewis at different stages of his life, the workshops have been very well attended.

Later this month, there will be a weekend of events, organised by Coleraine Gospel Partnership, a joint churches venuture, which will be held over the weekend of 27 to 29 November.

Events will explore the life, work and spiritual legacy of C.S. Lewis.

The children’s portraits of Lewis will be displayed on Sunday, 29 November at 6.30 pm in Terrace Row Presbyterian Church, as part of a special musical programme, ‘Made For Another World’, timed to mark the anniversary of Lewis’s birth.

It will feature guest musicians from the New Irish Choir and Orchestra, as well as choirs from Coleraine Grammar School.

The speaker will be Trevor Watson.

On Saturday, 28 November, three other events are planned, all beginning at 8.00 pm.

Ross Wilson will be speaking on ‘C.S. Lewis: A Portrait’, at an evening of jazz and canapés in Coleraine Baptist Church.

Meanwhile, two events will be taking place for young people.

Those in Year 10 and above are invited to ‘Reality Check’, an acoustic night in Ground, Coleraine, with speaker Rachel Millican.

Anyone of secondary school age is welcome to a movie night at Exodus when ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ will be showing, with a short talk by Adam McCready.

All the events are open to the public and entry is free.
