Celebrating Spring at the Discovery Centre

Get creative and learn more about the fascinating customs that mark the beginning of spring at Lough Neagh Discovery Centre this weekend.

February 1 marks the beginning of Spring and, according to Irish mythology, the time when the goddess Brigid replaced the goddess of winter to bring light and spring.

To celebrate this transition, Armagh City, Banbridge, Craigavon Borough Council’s Heritage and Conservation Service are hosting a great event on Sunday, January 31, where you will have the opportunity to turn your hand to some craft making by creating your very own St Brigid’s Cross to help celebrate her festival.
