Celebration of
Carpenters’ music at the Island

At the Island Hall on Saturday October 5 singer Kim Dickinson will pay tribute to Karen Carpenter, marking the 30th anniversary of her death.

Kim was touched by Karen’s breathtaking voice and by the wonderful arrangements of The Carpenters’ beautiful songs. Her voice has an uncanny resemblance to that of Karen’s and during these very special concerts she will take you on a magical journey through The Carpenter’s most popular timeless classics, such as ‘Close To You’, ‘Superstar’, ‘For all we Know’ and ‘Top of The World’.

50 years ago brother and sister duo Richard and Karen Carpenter joined A&M records to create the definitive sound Of The Carpenters.
This unique sound made them the biggest-selling group of the 70s. No fewer than ten of their singles went on to become million-sellers, and by 2005 combined worldwide sales of albums and singles well exceeded 100 million units.
