Events in June at the Centre for Contemporary Art: Launch of Fugitive Papers, Saturday, June 15, 3pm, the launch of the fourth issue of Fugitive Papers. For this issue, co-editors James Merrigan and Michaële Cutaya have invited Miriam de Búrca, Colin Darke, Rebecca Gordon-Nesbitt, Katie Holten, Daniel Jewesbury, Aaron Kelly, Gavin Murphy, and Aisling O’Beirn to contribute essays and artists’ projects. Lecture by VWAP consultant Phillip Grant, Saturday, June 22, at 3pm: In conjunction with Goldin and Senneby’s exhibition VWAP, one of the consultants on the project, Philip Grant, will lecture about why anthropologists and sociologists, and not bankers and economists, should be who we go to when we want to understand finance. He will focus on the complex question of value and how the concept links together practices as diverse as stock market investing and performance art.

The Ideological Guide to the Venice Biennale: CCA’s Aileen Burns and Johan Lundh have been invited to contribute to The Ideological Guide to the Venice Biennale. Its a free application for iPhone and Android smartphones that provides information on the political, economic, and ideological framework of all national pavilions of the 55th Venice Biennale.
