Charity concert

GLENARM singer-songwriter Ben Glover and his band, The Earls, will be making a very special appearance at the Halfway House in Ballygally on Friday, February 5.

Ben, who is now based in Nashville, Tennessee, where he has been song writing and recording for his much anticipated new album, is doing a charity performance for his old primary school.

The young Ben attended Seaview Primary School in Glenarm, and his family still lives in the village.

The school’s Parent Teacher Association are currently raising 8,000 for a new mobile computer suite and Ben is giving this special concert especially for them with some funds also going to the Northern Ireland Spinal Injury Unit.

Another former Seaview pupil and classmate of Ben’s, Peter Steele, raises money for the spinal injury charity as he suffered serious injuries following a car crash some years ago.

Tickets for the Seaview Primary School charity concert at the Halfway House Hotel, Ballygally, can be bought from Seaview Primary School in Glenarm, the Tourist Information Office, Glenarm, the Halfway House, Ballygally, or at the door on the night. Tickets cost 10.
