Nearly 50 trees designed by local schools, businesses and church organisations will tell different stories from the Bible, but especially the first Christmas.

Rev Robert McMullan told The Times: “This is an opportunity to tell the real story of Christmas.

“There are nearly 50 trees in the festival, all designed by local people.

“We have the schools, St John’s, Millburn, Irish Society, DH Christie, St Colum’s, and Sandelford taking part, alongside local businesses like Bishops, Dixons and Moore’s, it really will be a spectacle.”

Proceeds from the event will go towards the Church Building Fund and Davy Boyle’s Appeal.

During the week, music will be provided by local schools.

Robert went on: “There will be soup lunches and tea and coffee served through the day, it’s a great opportunity for visitors to see around our newly renovated church hall whilst they are here.”
