Christmas tree festival at Richhill

St Matthew’s Church Richhill is holding a Christmas Tree Festival from Thursday to Sunday, December 3-6.

Opening times are as follows: Thursday, 7.30pm opening ceremony by Lady Eames with singing from Hardy Memorial Primary School Choir; Friday, 10.30am to 9pm; Saturday, 10.30am to 9pm; Sunday, 1pm to 7pm, closing at 7pm with a service of carols among the trees with preacher The Most Reverent Richard Clarke, Archbishop of Armagh.

Tea, coffee, shortbread and mince pies will be available on Thursday and Sunday with soup lunches available from 12noon until 2pm on Friday and Saturday in the Colthurst Hall.

Soup lunches will be available from 12 noon until 2pm on Friday and Saturday.

A number of Christmas trees will also be placed in the Colthurst Hall where visitors will be able to write Christmas messages to leave on the trees.

Among the trees there will be a wordsearch.

Proceeds will be divided between the Southern Area Hospice and St Matthew’s Church Repair Fund.

The event promises to be especially enjoyable for families with children and local people are urged not to miss this opportunity to get in the mood for Christmas.
