City’s bands to march to a new tune or two
What happens when two of Northern Ireland’s most innovative composers work with bands from Londonderry Bands Forum? They march to a new tune or two!
Since November 2012, composers Brian Irvine and Sid Peacock have worked with over 100 members of Burntollet Sons of Ulster Flute Band, Caw Flute Band, East Bank Protestant Boys Flute Band and Pride of Orange and Blue Flute Band. The public will have a unique opportunity to hear the result of the collaboration at The Playhouse when the bandsmen together with Brian, Sid and a quartet of guest jazz musicians stage a free Music City Day concert on June 21.
