Comedian Tommy comes to Craigavon

COMEDIAN Tommy Tiernan is bringing his ‘World Tour of Armagh and Down’ to Craigavon Civic Centre on Wednesday, February 6.

As well as playing in Craigavon Tommy also visits Hilltown, Armagh, Newry, Silverbridge and Newcastle.

Tickets for all the gigs go on sale this Friday at 9am.

Tommy’s people have issued the following rallying cry to comedy fans in the local area: “Good people of County’s Armagh and Down, with your stunning landscape, charming villages, bustling towns and exciting citys, get your laughing gear on as the legend that is Tommy Tiernan visits for a series of gigs this February 2013.

“Like a reverse ‘cross border’ shopper, Tommy hits Newry with a non-denominational jokemobile packed full of brilliant gags and stories and plans to leave them there for your enjoyment.

He is honoured to play on the same stage where Dana fought Joe Frazier at the Irish National Foresters Hall in Hilltown and positively salivating at the prospect of a decent post show Chinese in Craigavon.

“Sweeping down from Slieve Donard to Newcastle by the sea, with a stop off to ponder the Horse Goddess in Armagh, even St Patrick himself will be laughing in his grave as this honest, personal, intelligent, sometimes confessional but always breathtakingly funny comic comes to one of the venues close to you.

“There’s unlikely to be a more compelling stand-up out there today, with this show giving us all the sides of Tiernan from the hushed conspirator to the firebrand preacher, riffing on childhood, family and a little bit of politics.”
