Five Daughters (BBC One, 9pm)

What's it all about? In 2006, the media descended on Ipswich following the murders of five young women.

For the grieving parents, the one-dimensional portrayal of the women added to their distress.

This new drama intends to set the record straight. Although it explores the police investigation, it is also concerned with telling the stories of the victims.

Iron Chef UK (Channel 4, 5pm)

He has gathered together four of the UK's most notable and competitive chefs, Martin Blunos, Judy Joo, Sanjay Dwivedi and Tom Aikens. In every episode a team of intrepid challengers take on one resident Iron Chef, rustling up dishes based on a special ingredient of The Chairman's choosing.

The dishes are judged by a panel of food critics and at the end of the programme either the team or the Iron Chef is declared the winner.

Each week culminates in the Friday Final where the strongest challenger takes on an Iron Chef alone in a head-to-head stand-off, with a 1000 prize for anyone able to overthrow the expert.

Look out for: Presenter Olly Smith Final where the strongest challenger takes on an Iron Chef alone in a head-to-head stand-off, with a 1,000 prize.

Andy's World Cup Goal: A Blue Peter Special (BBC One, 4.35pm)

What's it all about? For more than 50 years now, Blue Peter has been one of the most popular programmes for children and young adults on our screens.

The show's many charity appeals, the various presenters' daredevil challenges, and the sight of pets joining the hosts in the studio have over time become iconic parts of British culture.

Look out for: Andy Akinwolere. Earlier this year, the presenter was tasked with mentoring the UK football team taking part in the Street Children World Cup in South Africa, raising awareness of child poverty across the globe.

The first of two Blue Peter specials, showing today and tomorrow, follows his journey as he takes a group of 14-to-16-year-olds from Ardwick in Manchester to compete in South Africa. While not street children, they hail from what is one of the most economically deprived areas in the country.
