Live Winter Olympics (BBC Two, 7.30pm)

What's it all about? Whether you're a purist who enjoys demonstrations of sporting prowess, or just love watching bobsledders spin out of control on the first bend and shoot three miles downhill on their faces, it's hard not to be entertained.

Vancouver 2010 is a 17-day festival of live international winter sports - from biathlon to bobsleigh; curling to cross-country; skiing to skeleton; snowboarding to ski jumping - taking place throughout February.

The competition schedule involves 86 medal events in 15 Winter Olympic sports held at nine venues.

Veteran broadcaster David Dimbleby tracks down extraordinary artefacts that encapsulate events or originate in the UK and yet end up leaving our shores.

The latest programme charts the 100 years from the accession of Henry VIII to the first performance of Shakespeare's play on the Tudor monarch.

Coach Trip (Channel 4, 4.55pm)

What's it all about? In theory, holidays are supposed to be a relaxing break from it all, but in practice spending 24 hours a day with your nearest and dearest can result in frayed tempers, poolside rows and nobody speaking on the journey home.

So, imagine just how many sparks fly when you gather together some strangers, coop them up on a bus, and take them on a journey across three continents. No wonder Coach Trip has become a cult favourite.

If you've yet to catch this daytime show, then imagine Big Brother meets Wish You Were Here? with a dash of Come Dine with Me, and you'd on the right track.

A group of couples sets off from Britain on what should be the vacation of a lifetime, but in among the sightseeing, they will also be asked to vote off their fellow travellers - meaning one pair's vacation could come to a very sudden halt.
