Community carol service success
The Community Outreach Group thanked all those who, braving the severe weather conditions, came to support the Community Carol Service in the Jethro Centre on Friday evening last when a total of £428 was raised for the work of the local Alzheimer’s Society.
Sincere thanks are due to the Rev Father Andrew McMahon from the parishes of St Peter’s and St Paul’s, the Rev Clare Kakuru from Shankill Parish Church and the musicians and singers of the Salvation Army Band, Cantabile and Shankill Parish Community Singers, celebrating the Christmas message of Peace and Joy to the world.
The Community Outreach Group are also indebted to the manager of the Jethro Centre, Andrew Dunlop, his staff and the team of dedicated volunteers, all of whom served so willingly at this, our annual event when all the people of Lurgan can come together in celebration of the Saviour’s birth.
