With two top 40 British albums in their time as a band with Golden Days and At the End of the Day, The Fureys are now on a nine month tour that will take in Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, the Netherlands and Belgium.

In 1981, The Fureys released their most successful single When You Were Sweet Sixteen, which became a worldwide hit, reaching 14 in the UK singles chart, one in Ireland and nine in the Australian singles chart.

The song The Green Fields of France also gave them an Irish number one, staying in the singles chart for 28 weeks.

Formed in 1976, the Irish male folk band originally consisted initially of four brothers who grew up in Ballyfermot, Dublin.

They released their new CD The Times they are a Changing on September 15 - a collection of songs they had intended to record for several years.

The album includes well known songs by great writers and performers they met over the years including Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Ewan McColl, Pete Seeger, Jim Croce and Gordon Lightfoot.
