Country act Travers set for dance in Toomebridge

The young Galway singer and his multi-talented band went down a storm with the crowd in the Newry last Saturday and they are sure to do the same when they take to stage in the White River Hotel.

They have just started on the road but have lost no time in attracting a following as evidenced by enthusiastic receptions to their lively, versatile performances that embrace the best of country, 60s and standards.

And their formula should prove a winner at the hotel in Toomebridge, a venue which has hosted some of the biggest names on the country dancing circuit in recent weeks.

Jason has already established himself as a recording artist with his debut single ‘Don’t say goodbye’ followed by ‘Where was it’, and latest offering ‘1 2 3’ which is enjoying air-play nationally, his reputation is soaring.

But he is under no illusions about the challenge he faces in what is a difficult economic climate. “People now expect to get value for money when they come dancing and that’s what we intend to offer,” says the 20-year-old.

He has assembled only the best musicians for his band, among them Gerald O’Donaghue, whose expertise in the technical aspects of recording are pronounced in Jason’s songs to date. His band’s programme is tailored to cater for even the most discerning tastes and the emphasis will be on a polished repertoire with a slick presentation.

“I feel it is very important that we strike a rapport with dancers and in this respect it has been a case of so far, so good,” said Jason. “We are particularly focussed on making an impact in the White River Hotel as we know that only the best bands play there.”
