Country night to boost dementia

A FANTASTIC night of country music and dancing is in store in Banbridge next month.

Tickets are already selling fast for the event in the Parish Centre, at Scarva Road, on Wednesday, October 20.

All proceeds from the Country Night of Music and Dance will go to the dementia unit at Spelga Mews in Banbridge.

Spelga Mews is one of Fold Housing Association's Housing with Care and Support Schemes and cares for older people with dementia.

A host of top names from the world of country music have signed up to appear on the night, which will be compered by well-known local man Barney Greene with backing band Breakaway.

Artists who have agreed to provide their services free of charge include Boxcar Brian, Harry Convery, Bonnie Stewart, Trevor Dickson, Reggie Gilliland, Tony Kerr, Crawford Bell, Warren Smyth, Nuala McAnoy, Tom O'Rourke, Tennessee and Billy McFarland.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 8.30pm, are available costing 10 by contacting Hilda on 07919 416 133.
