Derek, who was recently named ‘Entertainer of the Year’, will play at the Bannville House Hotel on July 3.

Fans can look forward to the usual fun from a Derek Ryan show, with the Carlow man’s latest single ‘Cecilia’, sure to have dancers on their feet.

The song, a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s 1970 classic, was released on Friday May 22.

Complete with a country twist, Derek has put his own stamp on the song, which is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

The track is the first to be released from his next album, ‘One Good Night’, which is out this summer.

Meanwhile, Derek will be ‘stripping down’ this summer - but not in the way you might be thinking!

The ‘New King of Country’ has decided to strip down his show, with a five date acoustic tour.

During the set of ‘The Simple Things Concert Tour’, Derek gives the band a break and, only left with his guitar, performs for the crowd, in a more intimate and personal way.

“The highlight of the concert tour for me, so far, has been the reaction from the audience to my acoustic set half way through the show. I get a chance to tell stories, to the audience about my influences and sing some of my own songs and some classics, just me and my guitar!”

Derek on his ‘Intimate Acoustic’ tour will be joined by two band members, Rory Madden on keyboards and Matt Curran on guitar, who will help set the mood at each of the five gigs.

The trio will appear at McGrory’s Of Culdaff (Inishowen, Co. Donegal), The Craic Theatre (Coalisland, Co. Tyrone), The Flowerfield Arts Centre (Portstewart, Co. Derry), The Lodge Entertainment Centre (Castlewellan) and The Ballymaloe Grainstone (Shanagarry, Co. Cork).
