Craigavon's got talent

THE winner of this year's Craigavon's Got Talent was Laura Robinson's Mime Act.

Nearly 30 acts performed on Sunday evening at a packed St Anthony's Centre where the audience witnessed a memorable show.

The judges had the thankless task of picking the top six acts. Chairman of the judging panel Jonathan McGuinness commented there was at least another dozen acts who could have been in the top six such was the high standard, however, the Laura's Mime Act was superb and deserved to win this talent show.

Local Lurgan singer Eimear O'Neill was runner up with L May's Dance Company coming third. Pairs dance act Leah McKavanagh and Kirsty Brankin came fourth, Emily Dempsey from Bleary was fifth and local gymnast Erin O'Neill was sixth.

Other acts who impressed the judges included Amy McConville, Hopscotch, Daniel May, Nicola Harrison, Tammy Sharpe, Darren McCabe, Kevin Henderson, Patrick Moore, Ryan McNally, Orlagh Shanks, Holly and Courtney and Hollie Armstrong. All these acts can count themselves unlucky in not making the top six.

Show producer Kieran Corr thanked all of the acts who appeared in the final and said it was one of the best nights of entertainment ever to have taken place at the centre and that was all down to the acts who performed so well.
