Dancers for Walled City Tattoo

THREE members of the Cairncastle Ulster-Scots Highland dancers have been invited to perform at one of the cultural highlights of the year – the Walled City Tattoo in August.

The event is part of the UK City of Culture programme in Londonderry.

The Ulster-Scots group is planning to run a bus trip on Thursday, August 29 to support the local lasses.

The coach will leave Larne at approximately midday and return at around 6pm on Friday 30. The tour will include visits to historical locations in the walled city on Friday.

“This will be an opportunity to see our dancers participating at the prestigious international tattoo during the City of Culture 2013, which is unlikely to occur again in our lifetime,” said a spokesperson for the group.

The cost of the tour is approximately £100, which includes bus hire, dinner, bed and breakfast on Thursday, admission to tattoo and tour of the walled city.
