Don’t miss the Stendhal Festival of Art

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is support ing one of Northern Ireland’s main festivals of the summer, ‘Stendhal Festival of Art’.

The two day family festival will take place at Ballymully Cottage Farm in Limavady on on Friday and Saturday, August 7- 8 and boasts sixties legend, icon and poet ‘Donovan’ amongst its vast line up!

The legendary folk performer and Rock N Roll Hall of Fame member, who has produced numerous hits including ‘Sunshine Superman’, ‘Catch the wind’ and ‘Mellow Yellow’ will headline at the festival on Friday. His 2015 tour celebrates the legends 50th year in the music industry.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan, said: “Council is pleased to support Stendhal Festival of Art and congratulate the team on developing this festival over the past few years to the showcase it has become for film, theatre, dance, poetry, comedy, crafts and food.

“There’s so much to enjoy including a full family programme with magic, kids workshops, puppet shows that cater for everyone. The beautiful farm setting at Ballymully Cottage Farm is an ideal venue for a great family weekend and a must for music and art enthusiasts.”

Festival Director Ross Parkhill added: “It is a fantastic coup for Stendhal to have the legend that is Donovan headline our Friday night this year, we can’t wait to see him in Limavady. Donovan is one of the most celebrated names in folk music with a catalogue of songs that play a part in the soundtracks to many people’s lives.

‘We’ve also been lucky enough to secure some great acts for the festival this year including: Macka B, the Reggae and dancehall pioneer; Rainy Boy Sleep; Dublin singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke; Kormac, providing a mix of live electronics, turntables, drums, bass, vocals, trumpet, trombone, tuba, guitar and live visuals; and of course the big hit of last year, the powerhouse brand of hard rock, Making Monsters!

‘Another coup for Stendhal has been securing a very special screening of the Bafta Award Winning and Academy Award nominated short film ‘Boogaloo and Graham’ at the festival.
