Dromore Scouts host St George’s Day parade

Dromore is set to welcome an influx of visiting Scouts next week for this year’s annual South Down District Saint George’s Day Parade and Service.

First Dromore Scout Group is playing host to the event in recognition of the fact that it is this year celebrating its centenary.

Scouts from as far afield as Banbridge, Magherally, Newry, Pontzpass, Rathfriland and Drumgooland will descend on Dromore for the parade next Sunday, April 27.

The Scouts will assemble at Cross Lane Car Park before the parade makes its way down Princes Street.

From there it’s on through Market Square and along Church Street to Dromore Cathedral.

There the church service will take place at 3pm.

The parade will return to Cross lane Car Park after the service.

Already this year Dromore Scouts have held a celebratory service - involving current and past members - in Banbridge Road Presbyterian Church
