Dromore to host all new ‘Glee Club’

DROMORE is to play host to a new Glee Club-style initiative for 12 to 18-year-olds.

Organised by the Neighbourhood Policing Team, in conjunction with Banbridge Policing and Community Safety Partnership, the sessions are set to get underway this coming Friday, July 20.

The seven-week scheme at Dromore’s Fresh Oil Music Centre and Recording Studio offers young people the chance to develop their musical talent, improve performance skills and compete in a grand ‘X factor’ final.Free transport will be provided from Banbridge and Rathfriland.

“Are you a budding musician or performer,” ask organisers, “or have you an interest in learning backstage skills?

“Would you like the chance to compete in a Battle of the Bands and maybe win one of many great prizes, including a recording studio contract? Or are you a budding Gok Wan, into creative design, who would like to make costumes or make- up?”

For those who answer ‘yes’, the upcoming free sessions will run on Friday nights from 7 – 10pm at Fresh Oil, Hillsborough Road, Dromore.

Support will be given in developing musical skills, music mixing and Djing, backstage, video and camera skills, costumes and make up.
