AS THE New Year dawns, many of us consider the turning over of new leaves – and where better to make a fresh start than Flowerfield Arts Centre, where the staff have put together a new term of Creative Classes for Adults.

Fees remain reasonable, the welcome is warm and the tutors are relaxed and friendly – just ask some of the people who have been coming to the Portstewart arts centre for years to develop their creative skills among friends.

Some of the subjects have already begun to fill, but there are places left on a number of classes:

Monday morning – Beginners Oils & Acrylics with Penny Ramalho;

Monday evening – Oils & Acrylics with Paula McKinney; Spanish for Beginners and Improvers with Victoria Olivan Vinue;

Tuesday afternoon – Oils & Acrylics with Penny Ramalho;

Tuesday evening –Sculptural Ceramics with Adam Frew; Yoga classes with Maggie Crawford;

Wednesday afternoon – Watercolours with Heather Simpson;

Thursday afternoon – Beginners’ Digital Photography with Kathy Stewart;

Thursday evening – The Art of Tiffany Glass with Matt Pothecary; The Art of Drawing with Derek McAfee; Glass Casting, with Pia Raeymaekers;

Friday morning – Watercolours with Heather Simpson; Yoga (Portstewart Town Hall) with Maggie Crawford;

Saturday morning – Interior Design with Shauna Stewart.

Most of the classes get under way in the last week of January.
