Christina Ormon, from Lakelands, will be in the final in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry on August 21. If the 20-year-old wins, she will go on to compete in the Face of Europe contest as well as winning a host of prizes.

Christina revealed that she entered the contest online on the last day of the deadline for application submissions. She said: “My friends and family were surprised to hear that I was selected to be honest because they knew I entered on the very last day.”

For the final, Christina, a drama and film studies student at Queen’s University, will have to strut her stuff in three different outfits before the judges will whittle the 48 contestants down to the final 20.

One thing she doesn’t have to worry about is meeting the other finalists for the first time. “I’ve been on a couple of outings with the other contestants and everyone has been really supportive which is great,” she said.
