The local group will be combining songs from the shows, with festive fare, and are delighted to be able to announce that the evening will feature Northern Ireland Concert Band.

It will be the first time that the two local groups have performed together.

The Northern Ireland Concert Band is well known, especially its conductor, Martin Wall, who is part of the Ulster Orchestra.

It holds members from across Northern Ireland and various walks of life, from music teachers, to civil servants. Several members already enjoy playing in the orchestras/bands for various local musical theatre groups, such as Fusion.

The concert will be held on Tuesday December 17 and Wednesday December 18 at the Island Hall in Lisburn and tickets, priced £10, are already selling fast.

Ian Milford, Fusion’s Musical Director promised that the event will include favourites from Les Miserables, and other well known musicals, as well as classic Christmas carols.

He admits that he was delighted to have an excuse to dig out some of his own personal favourites for the choir and band, but might just be persuaded to perform himself, though he refused to be drawn on what carol he had in mind.
