Festive fun at BT Blues Club

THE ever popular BT Blues Club promises a great afternoon of live music on Saturday, December 3.

This will see 2011 end in style for the famous live music club which has been going from strength to strength for over four years.

The BT Blues Club was opened by Paul Bullick and Gary Agnew to provide a platform for live blues and rock bands. Having played in bands for many years the lads decided it was time to concentrate on the music they actually enjoyed; hence the birth of The Stonehouse Blues Band.

Also formed by Paul and Gary, The Stonehouse Blues Band took up residency in the BT Blues Club. The line-up has changed slightly over the years, however they are now a settled and well established band on the live music scene in Northern Ireland.

The line up now consists of Spencer on vocals, Conor - Bass, Gary (Milky) - Guitar, Paul (Looi) - Drums and Pat - Saxophone. Their setlist extends from AC/DC with a twist through to Zeppelin, with an excellent and diverse range of blues and rock from all eras and artists in between.

The Stonehouse Blues Band will headline at Saturday’s show.

Special guest for the day will be Davy McCann. Davy, an acoustic singer song writer is an accomplished artist who is guaranteed to keep the fans enthralled with his story telling acoustic songs. His music has invited comparison with a wide range of artists, such as Ralph McTell, Jacques Brel, Morrissey, Don McLean, Damien Rice and James Taylor.

Born in Ballymena, and currently living in Bangor, County Down, David writes much of his music in the shadow of Slieve Binnian, in the Kingdom of Mourne - a place of folklore, myths and legends.

He has performed in many venues in Belfast and beyond and has played at the Belfast-Nashville and Ards International Guitar festivals.

Doors will open at the usual time of 3.30pm on Saturday with live music kicking off around 4pm.

Gary and Paul would like to take this opportunity to thank all the supporters who have made the BT Blues Club the success it is today.

They would also like to extend thanks to the BTPO Club, their main sponsor the Music Rooms, the fans, all the bands and artists who have played in the club and all who have assisted with organisation and advertisement.

As usual Paul has promised another exiting line up of excellent bands and artists for 2012, he has already secured a number of greats bands for the calendar - watch this space for further details.
