Afro-Mic Productions is in the process of producing a new show for BBC NI which celebrates all that is great and good about a Northern Irish Wedding Day. They are on the lookout for couples who were married anytime from the 1960s right up to now, who are willing to dust off their wedding videos and photo albums and review their own weddings. Casting Producer, Kerry Reid said: “We’re keen to hear from couples of all ages and all walks of life. Anyone who married in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s to present day is welcome to apply.”

This documentary is one of the first in Northern Ireland to be filmed in lockdown and is being created exclusively from the contributors’ homes where couples will review their own weddings.

Afro-Mic Productions’ MD Emma Rosa-Dias who also produced the series The Search for BBC One NI said: “We’ll be celebrating seven decades of weddings here in Northern Ireland from the 1960’s right through to now, and we really want people from all corners of the province to get involved. It’s an opportunity to share wedding videos, photographs and memories and we really want people to have a laugh with it while at home...both on and off screen. Either way, it’s an opportunity for people of all ages to take a trip down memory lane, and re-live some of the happiest, funniest and cringe-worthy moments from their special day.” To get involved contact: [email protected] or call 07946 234766.
