Footloose auditions

MOYRAVERTY Arts and Drama Society are to produce their version of the musical Footloose.

It’s a major coup for MADS, who are the first drama society in NI to be given the copyrights for the hit 80s musical.

MADS have a very busy summer ahead with Footloose and the two junior shows which are being finalised, not to mention a week-long Summer Musical Theatre Intense Workshop which will run from the August 8 to 12.

MADS are calling for any boy or girl aged 15 or over to audition for Footloose, particularly those interested in dancing.

Show producer Kieran Corr said: “The production team members saw this musical in the Grand Opera House, Belfast recently and we’re looking forward to the challenge of producing it to the highest standard possible.

“To do this we will need to have a really strong cast who are good at dancing, singing and acting. Jonathan McGuinness will be the musical director for the show with Jayne McCrory and Emma Watson as choreographers.

Auditions and registration for Footloose take place at St Anthony’s Centre on Tuesday (June 7) at 7.30pm.

This Saturday from 1pm to 2pm and Sunday from 6pm to 7.30pm will be the last chance to audition for this year’s Craigavon Has Got Talent. The competition is open to all types of acts.
