Louise plays Rose who is the most vulnerable of the sisters in the story of a family of five sisters living in rural Donegal in the 1930s. Louise has previously performed with Ballywillan Drama Group.

Their lives are turned upside down by the arrival of their missionary priest brother who returns from Africa.

Chronicling their stories is Michael, the seven-year-old son of one of the sisters.

Michael’s narration provides the audience with vital information about the play.

Playing this narrator’s part is Fr Rory Sheehan from Ballycastle.

Fr Sheehan has played roles with Portrush Music Society in the past.

The play provides laughter and tears in equal measure and is probably Brian Friel’s most popular play.

‘Dancing at Lughnasa’ takes to the stage on October 11 and 12, nightly at 8pm.
